Calcium

This is of major significance in ensuring the optimal development of a number of physiological functions. Its importance is indisputable in:

  • the pollination process – pollen production,
  • cell wall formation,
  • cellular pH regulation,
  • the prophylactic effect (the effect on pathogens).

 

The crops most sensitive to Ca deficiency are:

  • fruit trees,
  • vines,
  • vegetables (tomatoes, potatoes, pumpkins...).

 

Moderately sensitive are:

  • oilseeds,
  • legumes,
  • sugar beet,
  • cereals.
