Manganese

  • Manganese is involved in the most important reaction in the life of a plant. It contributes to the photolysis of water, which is an important step in the photosynthetic process.
  • The many oxidation grades of manganese make this nutrient predestined to be involved in the oxidation-reduction processes of the metabolism.
  • Mn activates the efficiency of antioxidants, protein production, and the hormonal activity of the plant. It reduces the activity and production of auxins, and at the same time promotes cytokinins. It is also important in cell division during mitosis.
  • By applying manganese to poorly branching stands, we can stimulate branching and the formation of buds, achenes and seeds.

Crops very sensitive to Mn deficiency are:

  • cereals,
  • rape,
  • grass,
  • sugar beet.

Crops slightly sensitive to Mn deficiency are:

  • fruit trees,
  • vegetables,
  • rape.
